The candidate will serve as a technical editor for a program preparing to go through DoD acquisition milestones. Documents to be edited may include but are not limited to systems engineering plans, acquisition strategy, software support plans, and various reports, briefs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Prefer recent professional experience performing technical editing in support of the DoD acquisition community and excellent word processing skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing/maintaining document, brief, and worksheet templates and libraries.
  • Incorporating consistent tables, graphs, charts, and/or multiple column spreadsheets into technical reports without format error.
  • Editing and delivering reports involving complex and lengthy technical data.
  • Editing documents with multiple contributors under strict deadlines.
  • Strictly adhering to company and customer-provided guidelines for documentation configuration management.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment while balancing multiple priorities.

Education: Bachelor's degree is preferred, but not required.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • At least five years of experience using Microsoft Office products to perform technical editing functions; specifically mastery of advanced functions for MS Word (e.g., style development/application, formatting, templates, etc.) and PowerPoint (e.g., slide master development, animations and layering, etc.), and competent use of MS Excel (e.g., formulas, conditional formatting, cross-sheet linking, etc.
  • 1-2 years’ experience with Adobe Acrobat Professional (e.g., document conversions, document security, form development, etc.)
  • 1-2 years’ experience with MS SharePoint
