The School of Kinesiology and Nutrition at The University of Southern Mississippi
is accepting applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor. This is a semester-by-semester, temporary appointment based in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Multiple opportunities across a variety of courses are available and applicants should have expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Strength and conditioning (CSCS certification)/Weight Training
SCUBA
First-Aid/CPR
Physical Education
Sport Coaching Education (experience coaching individual or multiple sports)
Nutrition and Dietetics
Exercise Science
Exercise Physiology
Exercise Psychology
Sports Psychology

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching undergraduate and graduate coursework in the School of
Kinesiology and Nutrition.

Special Instructions to Applicants
Include resume, list of three professional references, and copies of
relevant certifications (e.g., CSCS, First-Aid etc.) and transcripts with
application.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree for Undergraduate Coursework
  • Master's Degree for Graduate Coursework
  • Proof of certification to support specific expertise (i.e., CSCS certification for
    strength and conditioning courses, CPR Instructor Certified for First -Aid
    courses)

Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Kinesiology/Nutrition or closely related field for Graduate Coursework
  • Teaching experience
  • Coaching experience
