• Newberg, OregonGeorge Fox University announces an adjunct faculty position in Biology, to begin either Fall of 2019 and/or January 2020. We seek applicants with the ability to teach a broad range of Biology courses including introductory Biology lectures and associated labs for both majors and non-majors biology students as well as Microbiology labs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Primary teaching responsibilities involve weekly lectures and laboratory sections in either majors or non-majors Biology courses.
- The objectives of these courses include the ability (1) to communicate fundamental principles of life science, including major biological concepts such as cell theory, genetics, germ theory, structure/function relationships, ecology/environmental science and evolution; and (2) principles of Microbiology, sterile technique, cell culture; and (3) to demonstrate the scientific method.
- The Fall Microbiology labs are currently scheduled for Th 11:50-2:40PM, 3-5:50PM and 6-8:50PM.
- The spring Foundations of Biology lectures are scheduled for TuTh 8-9:15AM. Three lab sections are scheduled for Thursday from 11:00-4:50 PM (1 hour and 50 minute sections).
- The spring General Biology labs are Mondays and Tuesdays, specifically Tu 2:30-5:20PM.
Qualifications
- B.S./B.A. or higher is required in Biology, Biochemistry or another related scientific field with preference given to candidates holding an advanced degree.
- Applicants should have professional experience in related industries and/or teaching experience in related fields.
- A commitment to working with a diverse population of students is essential; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred.
