Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesEncode additions and changes to all degree programs in the NMSU system. Understand and maintain limits, X lines, T lines, A lines, R lines, conditional codes, system codes, grouping, splitting, psuedo-courses, communication table, string table, convert table, repeat table, grade table, degree requirements versus optional and sub-requirements, exceptions, markers, NCAA compliance code, and Data-Loader functionality. Assists end users with degree certification and exception processing. Responds to system-wide activities associated with maintenance of degree audits, degree plans, degree maps, and degree certification. May issue security access and provides training to end users. Serves as consultant to all end users of degree audits and degree certifications; providing advice and assistance to the departments, colleges, student service units, and students. Understand parallels and differences between Banner, Catalog and Audit coding and functionality. Perform miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.
Classification SummaryLead college-wide activities concerning degree audits and degree maps. Plans, conducts and supervises assignments, generally involving larger and more important projects or more than one project. May oversee the supervision of personnel to include: work allocation, training, promotion and enforcement of internal procedures and controls and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance. Operates with considerable latitude for unrelieved action or decision. Maintains electronic and paper records documenting all course taken by all students in College throughout all majors. This position is responsible for making sure that records are created and maintained in accordance with university and degree audit requirements.
Classification Standard DutiesLead the college-wide activities associated with maintenance of degree audits, degree plans, degree maps, and degree certification. Serve as liaison with central offices in charge of degree audits and degree certifications. Serve as college lead in the interaction with University Registrar’s Office staff and with the software systems support for degree audits and degree certification. Serves as college-wide expert in degree audits and degree certifications, providing advice and assistance to the departments in the college. Ensure that departments provide updated degree maps and ensure that degree audits are consistent with degree maps and degree requirements. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.

Required EducationBachelor’s degree in a related field.
Required ExperienceNo previous work experience required.
Equivalency Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience as approved by Human Resource Services. Preferred QualificationsExperience with College Source UAchieve and UDirect products.
Experience at an institution of higher education.
