As a Senior Technical Writer, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, writing, illustrating and editing end user documentation for electronic products and web applications.
Responsibilities: •Work with product planning and product marketing team members to understand end user needs and workflows. •Gather and organize product requirements and other technical information and define strategy for end user documentation. •Prepare text and develop layouts for print or electronic publication. •Coordinate the translation of manuals, instrument displays, or web-based help content. •Review translated manuals for completion and formatting and incorporate translated text into manuals being revised. •Coordinate with engineering teams in development of writing, translation and print production cost estimates, and track costs throughout development. •Provide feedback and suggestions to engineering teams during product development. •Employ company brand standards applicable to technical documentation. •Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Engineering or related fields. •Minimum of 5-8 years previous experience in technical writing. •Excellent written communication skills and ability to take complex, technical information and explain it to end users with various technical backgrounds. •Ability to work effectively with cross functional product development teams. •Experience with industry standard writing, illustration and production tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro. •Experience with HTML and CSS •Basic understanding of electronic products or test equipment is strongly desired.
