The Augusta Campus of GMC announces an opening for a Financial Aid & Business Office Supervisor. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial aid and business affairs.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Supervise and coordinate work of all financial aid and business office staff.
- Provides training for new employees as well as ongoing training for current staff.
- Assures excellent customer/student service by all financial aid/business office personnel.
- Ensures students are contacted within a timely manner. Follows up on inquiries and/or complaints that generate from FA Help, FA Phone, Milledgeville FA Assistants or Counselors and directly from students.
- Compose and send a variety of correspondence, reports, statements and memoranda on behalf of both the Financial Aid and Business Offices.
- Process a variety of financial aid applications and correspondence; assist students with filling out applications and processing necessary paperwork.
- Accept financial aid awards and verify refunds.
- Assures that the processing and certification of VA students is completed correctly.
- Verify and adjust financial aid based on enrollment changes.
- Oversee the MyCAA Scholarship program, including invoicing and verification of paperwork.
- Supports administration with the awarding of GMC and non-GMC scholarships.
- Responsible for campus student account receivables.
- Supervise the withdrawal / drop process of the campus. Ensure accounts are properly reviewed on a daily / weekly basis for accurate decision making.
- Organize and provide student services through FA workshops, New Student Orientations and classroom visits.
- Attend all FA and BO training within the institution. Attend professional development conferences to remain current on regulations. Advise administration of changes that will impact operations.
- Responsible for accounts payable and receivable, creating purchase orders for approval and payment, accurate receipt of funds received, invoicing, and accepting payment for tuition and sponsor billing.
- Work with vendors, students and other GMC offices to resolve collections or payment issues.
- Assists business office with daily reconciliation, completes monthly petty cash and check book reconciliation and site review.
- Collaborate with peers, and other administrative personnel on policy and strategy for improved effectiveness.
- Provides input on mid-year and annual reviews for all direct reports within the department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:
- Knowledge of federal, state and institutional rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of financial aid, business office, admissions, registrar, accounts receivable, accounts payable and bookstore functions.
- Skilled in oral and written communication.
- Skilled in performing mathematics calculations.
- Skilled in detailed record maintenance.
- Skilled in utilizing computers, business application software, spreadsheets and word documents.
Required Skills
Education:
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in business or related field.
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal/human relations skills, demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Extensive knowledge of today’s educational technology.
- A can-do attitude and the ability to create win-win situations.
- Criminal background check and drug screen must be cleared before any candidate may begin working.

Required Experience
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years higher educational experience in an administrative capacity in one or more of the position's areas of responsibility.
Demonstrated work experience in a highly detailed, fast-paced work environment.
Proficient with math calculations and spreadsheets.
