The **Proposal and Documentation Manager** will coordinate and produce the technology deliverables needed to support Pearson proposals in response to RFPs, RFIs, and anything else that triggers the creation of a proposal that the assessment technology team is a part of. The Proposal and Documentation Manager will lead a team of technical writers that are creating online documentation and training material for products such as TestNav, PearsonAccess, and ABBI.

This is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to meet challenging deadlines.

**Core Responsibilities: **

+ Coordinate and review/edit proposal input from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from business development, product development, product delivery, infrastructure and operations, finance, security, and legal.

+ Communicate and influence at a senior level.

+ Manage multiple proposals, deadlines, releases and priorities, for both yourself and the team.

+ Assist in the creation of presentations needed at customer visits.

+ Create online documentation and training material for key products like TestNav, PearsonAccess, and ABBI. This documentation and training material must be completed in a timely manner, and make it easy for our customers to learn and use our systems. This effort will also require the tech writers to work closely with the engineering teams.

**Job Duties: **

+ Delivery of compliant, professionally produced proposal material, and cost information, within the timeframes needed for the proposal submission.

+ Gathering and researching information to include in proposals, including the technical solution being proposed, assessment technology product info, usage information, as well as providing info on how well our solution meets the requirements of the proposal.

+ Creates, reviews, organizes, and edits documentation to improve clarity.

+ Verifies complex technical solutions, strategies and themes are easily understandable, readable and compelling.

+ Collaborating with multiple Pearson groups, and people at different levels in the organizational, in the proposal preparation process.

+ Engage senior technical and management staff to obtain necessary information and commitment for either the user documentation and training material, or the proposals being developed.

+ Coordinates with technical staff to keep both the proposal text and documentation in sync with the changes to the products and services.

+ Participates in strategic planning that includes evaluating marketing intelligence, identifying customer concerns, and key issues, and developing win strategies.

+ Establish contacts with the other Pearson teams involved with the proposal process, as well as, with other vendors we partner with for proposals.

**Qualifications**

+ Bachelor's degree in a related field (business, marketing, engineering, etc.) preferred, other degrees such as Communication, Journalism, and English are acceptable.

+ Experience with K-12 assessment industry terms, contracts, deliverables, and processes is required.

+ Strong knowledge of RFP and proposal process is required.

+ Ideal candidates should possess 5 years of experience in the K-12 assessment industry.

**Other Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: **

+ Proven ability in planning, producing and delivering compliant proposals within a complex business environment.

+ Experienced in leading a team and working with other teams, leading design/storyboarding sessions, gathering cost info from teams that will be responsible for delivering the services/changes needed in the proposal, facilitating key review meetings, coordinating proposal governance / sign-off, document production, delivery of the completed proposal, creation of online documentation for web based systems, and online training material that allowed users to be able to learn how a system works on their own.
