Job Description

  • Teaching includes, but is not limited to, the following.

    Teaching assignments will be English Composition, ENG 098, 100, 101, 102, 107, 113, or 114.

    Leadership may include, but not be limited to, any of the following.

    1. Leader and/or membership in department and college-wide committees.

    2. Oversee course scheduling and teaching in one or more major subject areas.

    3. Oversee specialty lab areas and classrooms for one or more major subject areas.

    4. Collaborate with other faculty in developing courses and selecting textbooks.

    5. Primary point-of-contact for specialty classroom at any of CSN's major campuses.

    6. Program management for one or more degrees and/or certificates .

    Required Qualifications

    1. Master's degree in English from a regionally accredited college or university.
    2. Experience teaching English at the secondary or post-secondary level.
    3. Experience working with a diverse community.
    4. Excellent communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications

    1. Experience using an online Learning Management System
    2. Two years full time teaching experience at a community college or university.
    3. Experience working with multi-lingual students.
    4. Experience working with at-risk students

    Starting Salary Range

    825.00 per credit

Please Note: This job announcement is not an offer of employment. Should a candidate be selected for a part-time instructor position, no minimum course load is guaranteed and teaching assignments, if any, are contingent upon various factors, including but not limited to, minimum student enrollment and/or department need. No reimbursement for travel expenses will be provided to local or out of area/out of state candidates and there is no guarantee of continued or future part-time and/or full-time employment. Teach sociology courses, which may include introductory courses, social issues, research methods, statistics, and related sociology (SOC) courses.
