This position instructs DAN 130/Dance Appreciation for non-majors. DAN 130 is part of the USM General Education Curriculum. DAN 130 is taught in a variety of formats and platforms, including online, face to face, during the regular semester and during the intersession.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach DAN 130/Dance Appreciation
  • Provide interim and final grades for enrolled students
  • Provide data for General Education Curriculum assessment based on student achievement in the course
  • Be available to student through office hours (face to face or virtual)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
MFA in Dance.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of the history of dance and of the influence of dance on culture.

Preferred Qualifications
Ability to teach in online platform. Previous experience in teaching Dance Appreciation. Ability to guide students through writing and performance projects.
