The Front Desk Manager (FDM) will be responsible for all aspects of administering the management of front desk personnel and delivering exceptional guest service according to Hilton standards. As an hourly position, the FDM must also be available for overtime as needed. The FDM reports directly to the hotel Assistant General Manager. The FDM duties are summarized below:

  • Provide excellent customer service to all guests consistently as an example to follow for all FD department staff.
  • Oversee all front desk shifts and ensure that required paperwork is properly completed. This includes, balancing of cash and credit card report. FDM should be reviewing future reservations for special requests and room type balancing. Manage pre-paid reservations and third party booking accounts on a weekly basis. Administrate EOM direct billing accounts by sending out statements and posting payments.
  • Ensure training for all new FD personnel on required FD computer skills and Hilton Hotel systems and operations.
  • Evaluate FD personnel and conduct employee evaluations per scheduled timeframes.
  • Maintain supplies by ordering necessary front desk and back office supplies.
  • Oversee communications between all front desk shifts and other departments. Follow up as needed. Review all shift logs and respond to guests and outstanding issues in a timely fashion.
  • Act as the on- property Hilton Honors Manager by recruiting new membership and promoting programs to our incoming guests. Training all FD personnel to do the same.
  • Have prior knowledge of Hilton ONQ PMS or other branded PMS. Hilton ONQ experience preferred.
  • Meeting Room management- responsible for coordination of meeting room bookings. Insure that meeting room rental information is complete and inform all department about group requirements. Verify that function space is setup to comply with guest requirements.
  • Will be involved in the hiring process to maintain sufficient front desk staffing for current and future dates.
  • Participate in the Manager on Duty (MOD) rotation. Will be responsible for MOD coverage on 2 weekends per month. Be able to provide coverage for FD shifts due to call offs or find replacement coverage.
  • Review SALT surveys on a daily basis and respond to situational complaints as needed.
  • Will be responsible for any and all other duties as assigned by hotel management.
