Reintegration Foster Care Case Management Specialist I - II (Leavenworth, Kansas) Job Opening

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Reintegration Foster Care Adoption Specialist I-II is responsible for managing and providing services to children and families who have been referred under the Kansas Foster Care Case Management Grant. This position will continuously analyze and assess each family and child situation on an individual basis, using advanced knowledge in the area of child welfare to develop recommendations regarding supportive services and resources that each child and family may need to ensure safety and well-being, such as educational plans, medical, psychiatric and psychological assessments, therapy, independent living skills, etc. This position will facilitate service planning with the child, family and other team members in accordance with Cornerstones of Care and Department for Children and Families (DCF) policy. This position will assist the family in cultivating natural and informal family and community supports which can help the family to achieve safety and permanency for children. Responsible for preparing and submitting high quality reports to the court; providing updates on child(ren) and family’s progress within required time frames. This position must prepare and maintain, according to Cornerstones of Care and DCF policy, all required case record documentation, incident reports, service plans, and other recordkeeping, so that records clearly reflect actions from referral to closure. This position is required to be accessible via cell phone to children, families, placement providers, DCF staff, and other Cornerstones of Care staff in accordance with Cornerstones of Care on-call policy.

QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or other Human service related field and at least three (3) years of work experience with children and families. The preferred candidate will have a Master’s degree from an accredited university in Social Work or related field and be licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board to practice in Kansas (LMSW, LSCSW, Professional Counselor, etc.). Must pass background check, physical and drug screening. This position also requires a valid driver’s license and proof of current vehicle insurance.
