Technology Lead Instructor/IT Manager

In support of this, the Lead Instructor role is to assist in creating an environment where active, motivated students efficiently complete course objectives and the faculty can teach in an environment of academic success and is responsible for maintaining the integrity of their assigned academic program(s).

Essential Functions:

  • Academic Leadership – provide leadership for and coordination of all assigned academic programs, including strategic planning, resource allocation, and implementation of action items.
  • Academic Operations – provide leadership for and coordination of the operational function of the academic mission of the college including the development revision and maintenance of the curriculum.
  • Student Retention – with Dean, assesses the effectiveness of instructional delivery as it relates to student retention.
  • Accreditation and Compliance- maintain departmental compliance with State, accrediting body and Federal regulatory agencies.
  • Represent the college – exhibits initiative, enthusiasm, and teamwork in accomplishing the responsibilities of the position. Must also represent the college at events and activities when the dean is unavailable.
  • Conduct assigned courses that result in a high level of student satisfaction and course completion.
  • Lead monitoring and maintenance of all parts of the campus IT infrastructure
  • Implement procedures around security, and take the appropriate action to resolve any issues
  • Manage and maintain all technologies for the campus and Central Financial Aid
  • Work to address issues with configuration, database administration, repair, network, email, file shares, and other infrastructure issues and report any unresolved to company IT
  • Create campus and role-specific imaging of new staff systems.
  • Oversee campus incident management, service requests, imaging, and IT security
  • Manage department staff including, hiring, training and development, and performance management
  • Maintain inventory of all equipment and software
  • Assist with daily help desk tasks as needed
  • Prioritize and manage work and projects for the campus
  • Issue and track inventory of student laptops, collect laptops from dropped students, repair or send for repair on warranty, place orders for new laptops
  • Physical demands- Sitting at a desk with intermittent walking, standing; for up to eight hours, bending, and occasionally lifting objects (up to 15 pounds). Work is performed in an office and in a classroom.
  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, related field, or equivalent experience; Masters preferred.
  • Minimum three to five years of teaching experience; preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of related IT experience
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a management role
  • High-level knowledge of all technologies within area of responsibility
  • Ability to organize and handle multiple tasks
  • Meet educational and work experience requirements for teaching in the program.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Experience in Distance education delivery; preferred.
  • Ability to communicate well both written and verbally
  • Computer savvy on industry software, including MS Office Suite. Experience with CampusVue preferred.
