Job Description

Arizona State University is seeking an energetic and experienced analyst in the Admission Services, Information Systems Development department. This position will support the adoption and expansion of the university’s Salesforce enterprise implementation for both undergraduate and graduate recruitment, marketing, and pre-enrollment processes.

The focus of this job centers around producing timely results that are high quality and accurate. Benefiting from an analytical, inquiring and critical mind, this job requires imagination and strong problem solving skills, but with a strong technical orientation.

The job requires an ability to deal with abstract concepts, systems and ideas and all of that in an organized and self-disciplined way. It also requires that serious consideration be given to all possibly related facts and potential problems. This job demands deep knowledge and expertise and to do it successfully depends on understanding detailed information.

Intellectual confidence is important in this job and to do it well requires close, hands-on involvement and careful follow-up. Central to this job is the need to weigh all decisions carefully and thoroughly, based on expertise in order to avoid unpredictable risk. Getting the job done and getting it done right are the two, equal, drivers for this job, and that may create conflict.

Essential Duties

  • Provides second tier support and leads the analysis and diagnosis of incidents to ensure timely and satisfactory resolution.
  • Evaluates the impact of new development, new releases, or integration requests; makes recommendations regarding the timing and implications of moving forward.
  • Monitor potential changes to source systems and represents enterprise recruitment/communication requirements in discussions of substantive changes to source systems.
  • Defines, manages, and leads all project phases related to new development or integration requests; represents recruitment in the enterprise Technical Governance process,
  • Periodically reviews processes, procedures, or configuration for enhancement opportunities; reviews needs and makes recommendations, including assessments of the effort involved, alternatives, and implications.
  • Coordinates with UTO and other departments or vendors to ensure data integration with internal and external systems is operating correctly.
  • Reviews, updates, and implements system administration procedures to ensure ongoing quality, integrity, and security of data.
  • Supervises and trains in-office student worker on the system and oversee their tasks on a daily basis; coordinates the process of interviewing and hiring.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology or closely related field AND six years prior relevant experience in a large, multi-user data environment including responsibility for development of customized queries and reports OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the Salesforce platform (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience administering, developing and supporting a high volume Enterprise CRM/Marketing System.
  • Experience with data analysis tools including: SQL, Excel, R/Python, Splunk
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with integration methods and tools, including but not limited to: ETL, APIs, SSIS, Mulesoft
  • Demonstrated knowledge of higher education recruitment and admissions practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with PeopleSoft in a higher education environment.
  • Experience preparing and executing project plans, requirements, and testing documentation.
  • Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills.

Working Environment

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; frequently required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts Ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see and hear to perform essential functions. Frequent travel, involving operation of a motor vehicle; Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals; This position receives regular review of objectives. Frequent evenings and occasional weekends.
