The Training & Consulting Subject Matter Expert (SME) has responsibility for the product knowledge and training and consulting readiness within the Professional Services organization This individual will be part of the early stages of product development so they have the visibility necessary to prepare and train the organization on Development-released products.

Success in this job means that the Professional Services SME will work closely with the internal Professional Services team, as well as our clients’ staff, to deliver 100% customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Job Skills
    • Advocating/initiating training for the following core deployment types, where the product is an Amadeus Hospitality application:
      • New installation
      • Upgrade/product migrations
  • Subject Matter Expert Responsibilities
    • Attend cross-departmental release team meetings representing Professional Services, especially the Release Team Meetings relevant to the products being focused on.
    • Develop and maintain documentation for new/existing service offerings. Create/revise and maintain training agendas and lesson plans
    • Create new documentation for each product release including user training guides, train the trainer guides, checklists and deployment documentation for internal staff and client consumption.
    • Collaborate with services managers to deliver internal instructor led training classes for new hires, new product release, continued education or changes to deployment methodologies
  • Training Responsibilities/Initiative & Self-Management
    • Travel approximately 5% of the time conducting product training to “pilot” new releases and/or new training approaches.
    • Ensure that the hotel staff of each training class has been properly trained according to the agreed upon training schedule
    • Utilize training documentation and presentations for effective training
    • Provide creative solutions to the client so that Amadeus products work effectively in their environment
    • Handle conflict situations calmly and professionally and make sure any decisions made are in the best interest of both Amadeus and the client
    • Take initiative in ensuring that any challenges are proactively discussed
    • Assisting in other departments (as required) to deliver product training for Amadeus employees
  • Interpersonal Skills/Demeanor
    • Be an advocate for Amadeus and its products
    • Maintain professionalism, patience and understanding during the training process
    • Provide creative solutions to challenges that arise while on site
    • Provide a friendly training environment by being approachable to trainees

Job Requirements

  • 2-4 Year Degree in Hotel Management or Bachelor's Degree
  • Prior Amadeus product knowledge required
  • Previous experience in hotel catering or sales preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Logical problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong multitasking skills
  • Positive and professional manners on-site and over the telephone
  • Self-starter with the ability to learn new software applications, networks, and hardware components
  • Able to work under pressure
  • The candidate must hold a valid Driver’s License
  • The candidate must hold a valid Passport
  • Proof of insurance
  • Satisfactory credit history
