Job Summary

The Research Training Manager is responsible for tracking RCR (Responsible Conduct of Research) training completion for all researchers at Purdue, system-wide, in accordance with applicable university policies and standards, and in compliance with federal regulations, and assists with related educational and outreach activities. The RTM is responsible for ensuring that researchers being paid from federal grants complete the appropriate RCR training. The RTM will use available university resources and databases to identify researchers with pending RCR training requirements and contact the researchers, and their advisors, PIs and Co-PI/s, to communicate pending RCR requirements for students/trainees, and record training, when completed, and provide technical assistance for online applications for tracking researcher training and other research administration software. The RTM will also provide assistance and technical support to the Office of the Provost, the Research Integrity Officer, the inquiry and investigation committees, for research misconduct investigations.


Essential Functions:

  • Track RCR training completion for all researchers at Purdue, system-wide, in accordance with applicable university policies and standards.
  • Assist the Office of the Provost and the Research Integrity Officer with research misconduct investigations and remediation plans.
  • Track compliance with federal regulations on RCR training for awarded projects.
  • Provide technical assistance for online applications for tracking researcher training and other research administration software, as needed. Assist with existing data curation, database development, testing, and maintaining the accuracy of records in the dedicated online application.
  • Assist with planning, organizing, coordinating, RCR training educational activities for faculty, students, and other researchers at Purdue.
  • Collaborate with compliance officer(s) s at all university levels, system-wide, to identify researchers and determine training needs, scheduling in person training sessions as needed. Assist with the selection of online training courses and organization of face-to-face training sessions; procure training materials and equipment. Respond to College/Department level RCR inquires. Assist with technical and other problem-solving issues regarding RCR training requirement, working with CITI technical assistance and support.
Required:
  • BA or BS degree
  • Two years experience within a research environment
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent organization as well as communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in visual graphics design
  • Must be detail orientedAbility to collaborate well with co-workers
