The Instructional Design Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining online/web-based learning tools that support management and leadership development, career and succession planning, and employee learning and development across Purdue’s three campuses. The position serves as the team’s technology subject matter experts creating interactive online and classroom experiences that accelerate learning and retention. The incumbent is the subject-matter-expert responsible for maintaining all organizational development vendor purchased systems and teaches his/her fellow team members to use vendor-supported tools. The positon also facilitates end-user learning sessions as appropriate.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, organizational development, business administration, public administration, human resources, or related field
- Two years of professional experience in management information systems, organizational development, business administration, public administration, human resources, or related field
- Ability to think creatively to design new approaches to increase and improve the speed, quality, and retention of employee learning
- Ability to learn and master technology related systems including but not limited to learning management systems, course registration systems, course development software, web content editing software, video and audio software creation systems, and basic/intermediate coding skills typically required to host support aids onto the internet or create web-based interactive experiences
- Ability to work independently delivering results on scheduled and in scope
- Ability to work in a results driven fast pace team
- Ability to provide professional level presentation and facilitation activities as needed
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in management information systems, organizational development, business administration, public administration, human resources, or related field
- Familiarity with SuccessFactors, Lynda.com administration, SharePoint, Cascade Web Content Editing Software, Articulate Training Development Software, SharePoint, Microsoft Office, and Qualtrics 360
