This position performs under the direction of the National Operations Coordinator and daily supervision of the Pine Grove Transportation Team Leader. The Clinical Assistant must have the ability to work in an environment that includes emotionally and/or chemically dependent patients, and appropriately respond to and communicate any patient care needs. The Clinical Assistant is responsible for transporting patients to and from appointments, meetings, and other activities in a timely manner, in addition to fulfilling other assigned transportation needs. Observing patients and maintaining patient safety, assisting patients with activities of daily living, both physical and emotional, and with meeting team objectives. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Responsible for the distribution and searching of patient belongings and body searches and assisting as needed with basic patient care on the units. Maintenance of vehicles; departmental paperwork and reports. Must have complete requirements to safely drive hospital vehicles. Performs all other job duties as assigned. Complies with all departmental and hospital policies, and completes the training necessary to perform all Clinical Assistant job responsibilities within Pine Grove. The Clinical Assistant must also fulfill any other duties as assigned by the National Operations Coordinator and Transportation Team Leader.

- Demonstrates the ability to tolerate physically demanding tasks of moving equipment, supplies and patient belongings.
- Demonstrates a courteous, polite and respectful image in all interactions with co-workers, patients, families, and visitors (i.e. greets customers pleasantly, verifies information for accuracy, and listens carefully to determine customer needs).
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to adhere to all traffic laws and organizational safety procedures.
- Demonstrates the ability to maintain ethical behavior and professional boundaries with all patients, per the organization’s professional boundary standards.
Qualifications:
Education/Skills:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Work Experience:
Two years of experience in a health care setting is preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
A valid MS driver license and a positive driving record are required.
Mental Demands:
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are needed.
