CDL Class A Truck Driver Instructor (Full Time) Job Opening

Immediate opening for a full time Classroom, Truck Lab and Driving Range CDL instructors for an established, well-known and reputable private training school. Hours will vary depending upon student enrollment. We do offer day and evening sessions Monday-Friday. Occasional weekend sessions may be scheduled for range time. RETIRED truck drivers are strongly encouraged to apply...come share your knowledge and valuable experience with CDL trainees.

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or GED,
• One (1) year of vocational education tractor-trailer driver teaching or driver trainer experience, or two (2) years of practical trucking related experience that demonstrates instructional competency.
• Driving Experience: 1. At least three (3) years of verifiable truck driving experience in the most recent ten (10) years, with a minimum of one (1) year as a long haul/OTR tractor-trailer driver (or comparable experience).
• A safe driving record as determined by the SAGE Safety Department.
• Knowledge/Skill: Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of safe driving and all of the laws and regulations covering tractor-trailer interstate operations. Instructors must also be capable of demonstrating the SAGE curriculum subject matter for the students.
• Attitude: Instructors must show an attitude that is favorable toward performance. Instructor attitudes are assessed according to professionalism, respect, motivation, maturity, and safety.
• Regulatory Compliance: Instructors must meet the minimum qualifications for interstate tractor-trailer drivers in accordance with all requirements of the applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, including, but not limited to, meeting the physical and driver qualification standards of Part 391, as well as be able to pass as D.O.T. drug/alcohol screen.
