The Department of Communication Studies at Louisiana State University invites applications for Instructors for the 2019-2020 academic year. We seek scholars with a vibrant research agenda, engaged in our community and departmental events to teach core undergraduate courses and organize interdisciplinary events. Applicants may specialize in any area within Communication Studies, including Performance Studies, Rhetoric, and Interpersonal. We are especially looking for individuals whose expertise meets current needs in the department, including critical race studies, queer studies, black feminism, African American performance, Latinx performance, post-colonial or de/colonial theory, or transnational studies.
Instructors will be expected to teach primary courses in the department such as Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, Introduction to Performing Literature, Communication for Business and the Professions, Argumentation and Debate, Small Group Communication, and will have opportunities to teach upper division courses (including special topics that reflect their research interests).
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s in communication studies or relevant field is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in communication studies or relevant field is preferred.
