DESCRIPTION

New Mexico Highlands University is a NCAA Division II institution competing in the RMAC. We are searching for two graduate assistant athletic trainers for the upcoming Fall 2019 sports season in mid-August. These positions will run through mid-May and renewal for the second year will be based on performance from throughout the year. We have 12 sports and sport assignment will be based on availability. Potential assignments may be football, soccer, volleyball, wrestling, basketball, track, and softball. Candidates will be directly responsible to the head athletic trainer.

RESPONSIBILITIES

-Effectively be able to communicate with both athletes and coaching staffs.

-Effectively be able to demonstrate the ability to prevent and evaluate athletic injuries.

-Effectively be able to treat and rehabilitate athletic injuries.

-Ability to maintain and complete accurate medical records utilizing an online system.

-Ability to work as a team player in both an optimal and non-optimal environment.

-Ability to work long hours during the week as well as weekends.

REQUIREMENTS

-Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

-MUST be BOC certified by start date.

-MUST be eligible for NM state licensure.

-MUST be able to lift 50 lbs.

-MUST be able to love the career you have chosen!

-Must be currently CPR/AED certified.

-MUST be accepted into the graduate program of your choice at NMHU.

-MUST be able to work as a group as well in an individual environment.
