Position description
- The Part-Time Teacher (PTT) of the English Language Learner (ELL) program at Waipahu Intermediate School teaches an English Language (EL) student or group of students independent of a regular classroom teacher, during instructional hours or non-instructional hours by providing pull-out instruction, non-graded activities, and/or remedial instruction for content area classes.
- Casual certificated personnel and have a maximum allowable work week of 17 hours
- Flexible daily work schedule between the hours of 8:00 AM to 2:10 PM on instructional days
- Possible employment for ELL Extended Learning Opportunity summer programs
- Monthly trainings provided
- No medical/dental benefits

Required qualifications
- Bachelor or Masters degree (any major)
- Fluency in the English language
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office apps and Google Drive apps
Desired qualifications
- At least one year of teaching experience
- Hawaii Teacher Standards Board (HTSB) licensure in the subject(s) taught or meet Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) teacher qualification requirements (HQT) in the subject of either English Language Arts, Math, Science, and/or Social Studies
- Bachelor or Masters degree in Education
- Fluency in one or more dialects or languages: Ilokano, Tagalog, Marshallese, Chuukese, Samoan, Tongan, Vietnamese
