Role and Responsibilities

The role of the Training Recovery Specialist is to assist struggling students in progressing through the training syllabus. The Training Recovery Specialist is a flight instructor with a passion for seeing students succeed. A “turnaround” artist, this role takes students who are having difficulty and works with them to successfully move to the next phase of training. While the focus of effort is flight instruction, the Training Recovery Specialist uses all tools at his or her disposal to assist the student. This could include additional flight training, ground instruction and or simulator time. The Training Recovery Specialist will prepare the student to succeed and the student will return to the course syllabus with a line instructor. This role includes the responsibility to administer and report on the student’s progress, documenting Additional Training Agreements as appropriate and coordinating the students training activity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

· On a daily basis, monitor students with two or more lesson failures and students requiring training reviews. Reach out to instructors/flight leads who need assistance in pre-emptive efforts to avoid multiple lesson failures.

· Coordinate training reviews with instructors, students and flight leads to create remedial training plans and timelines. Schedule/execute remedial training in ETA.

· Assist in mentoring instructors in techniques for specific training issues.

· Develop and report to management the key performance indicators on the frequency requested

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

· Ability to apply various training techniques to progress students in flying program

· Ability to prioritize and managed several competing priorities

· Knowledge of FAA training syllabus

· Competency in the use of MS Excel or other database management tools

EDUCATION REQUIRED

· Associates degree or equivalent credit hours in related field of study; aviation management, business, operations management

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

· 3 years or more of flight instruction experience. 80% first time pass rate on FAA practical examinations. Knowledge of CAE training administration processes.

· FAA CFI and CFII certificates
