Personnel should possess appropriate knowledge of and experience in these areas:

  • Extensive global regional expertise and knowledge of Air Force/Department of Defense needs for deployment education and training.
  • Extensive knowledge of foreign language teaching techniques and instructional systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology, and Instructional Product Development.
  • Extensive knowledge of Instructional Design Practices, principles and techniques and curriculum development.
  • Extensive expertise and knowledge of the spectrum of negotiation/ mediation concepts, skills, and theory.
  • Extensive knowledge of standardized web-based interactive course delivery systems (e.g. Blackboard).
  • Extensive expertise in instructor facilitation and faculty development.
  • Extensive knowledge of education evaluation, including the development of written and performance tests.
  • Extensive knowledge of computers in education and training.
  • Extensive knowledge of industrial/organizational psychology, competency modeling, and psychological assessment.
  • Extensive research experience in areas of culture and ethnography.
  • Extensive research experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
  • Extensive research experience in research methods, investigations, and education programs.
  • Knowledge and skill with multimedia methods of design and delivery (e.g., imbedded video instruction).
  • Extensive knowledge of relational databases and database tools such as Oracle database, Java, and reports tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of web technologies such as HTML and XML.
  • General knowledge of and competency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
  • General knowledge of and competency with the Defense Travel System.
  • Where impartial and independent peer reviews are required: the peer reviewer/researcher must be an academic scholar who holds a graduate-level degree (preferably a PhD) in history, political science, international relations, cultural anthropology, archeology, or cultural geography and is deeply versed in the respective country's culture and customs; possess cultural currency, via multiple, in-country cultural field research visits of at least two weeks in-country per visit over the course of several year
  • Extensive knowledge of mobile application and content management system (CMS) creation, maintenance and enhancement: For the iOS environment advanced knowledge of Objective-C, for the Android environment advanced knowledge of the Ionic framework, and for the CMS environment a working knowledge of AngularJS, PHP, MySQL, Amazon Web Services, and HTML/CSS.
  • Extensive expertise and knowledge of strategic leadership communication concepts and best practices.
  • Extensive expertise and knowledge of nuclear/weapons of mass destruction (WMD) deterrence concepts.

Supports curriculum execution as a subject matter expert (SME) with the necessary credentials and academic certifications to serve as adjunct faculty and accomplish assessment and mentoring of students.

Position Requirements

Education: Must have Masters (PhD preferred) in the appropriate and specific experience area, e.g. Language, Region, Culture, and Negotiation (LRCN), Strategic Leadership Communication (SLC), Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) and/or acknowledged expertise in the appropriate experience area. In some instances, unique operational experience may be factored in and deemed appropriate in lieu of academic degrees.

Experience: Air Force operational experience preferred

Certification: Certified in Microsoft Office 2013 Word and PowerPoint, or perform to that level of proficiency
