The clinical educator is responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of staff education programs for assigned units with regard to current standards of care and practice, changing technology, and identified quality improvement opportunities. In addition, the clinical educator is responsible for coordinating orientation for all new employees within defined clinical practice areas, and ensuring the validation of competency of staff upon employment and ongoing with accurate record keeping within the assigned areas. The maintenance of clinical proficiency is a must and direct patient care may be included in this role, as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid AL RN license required. Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years clinical experience required.
- Management experience preferred. Certification in specialty area ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, etc.Ability to observe, assesses, and record work, safety and infection control standards. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns. Strong oral and written skills required. Strong organizational and leadership abilities required. Must be self directed and able to work independently.Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure. Basic Life Support (BLS).
