Summer Program Adjunct Instructors are hired for 3 weeks in June and up to two Saturday each month through school year for the Verizon Innovative Learning Program.
General Description:
Central State University (CSU) Verizon Innovative Learning Program is seeking instructors to teach during the 2019/2020 Program year in the following subject areas: Solid Modeling and 3D Printing, Robotics, Drones, Design Thinking, Augmented and Virtual Reality, Coding, and other STEM courses. These courses will be taught to middle school boys over a three-week period and up to two Saturdays a month throughout the school year. This is a grant funded position.
- Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities.
- Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.
- Meet course performance goals.
- Create lesson plans for students with diverse learning abilities.
- Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.
- Create positive educational climate for students to learn in.
- Submission of grades and perform other administrative duties as needed.
- Create projects designed to enhance classroom experience.
- Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
- Work with camp coordinator/counselors to ensure initiatives are being met.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom, enforce approved disciplinary procedures.
- Attend meetings and functions.
- Attend orientation classes.
- Submit requested paperwork in a timely manner.
- Manage software, hardware and tools loaned to you for program.
- Provide training for your team during orientation classes.
Minimum Qualifications
- A minimum of one year of experience in subject area with teaching experience preferred. Must have a valid background check prior to employment.
