    • Purpose of Job
      Provide assistance, direction, and information of all necessary services related to the academic success of students. Assist new students in the process of transitioning to Nebraska Methodist College (NMC). Serve as a liaison between students, and various college departments. Inform students of NMC policies, procedures, services.
    • Job Requirements
      Education
      • Master's Degree in higher education, liberal arts, sociology, psychology, human resources, or related degree required.

      Experience
      • Minimum of 3 years progressively more responsible experience working in student affairs/education, other customer service oriented environment or people interactive industry.
      • Experience providing academic counseling to professional adults, or working with professionals in health sciences field is a plus.

      • High level of interpersonal skills in collaborating and working efficiently with individuals, and within departments and teams.
      • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Word and PowerPoint, with working knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn customer relationship management systems.
      • High level of organization skills with strong abilities in problem-solving, managing multiple activities simultaneously, shifting priorities as needed, and meeting deadlines.

    • Essential Job Functions

      • Provide basic course curriculum guidance, and direction related to course registration, and selection to assigned students to ensure the appropriate enrollment of students within each program of study.
      • Assist, coordinate, and collaborate with college departments, faculty, and personnel in the development, implementation, and monitoring of activities designed to facilitate retention, and promote the academic success of students.
      • Serve as academic advisor and resource to incoming students, assist with registration of new students, and coordinate and implement new student registration events.
      • Monitor each assigned students progression from matriculation through graduation, and proactively connect students to the appropriate faculty, staff, services, and other contacts that assist students in successful educational outcomes through the College.
      • Engage in proactive contact with students by e-mail, telephone, mail, and other forms of purposeful communication to learn about students' progress with courses and course satisfaction; respond to general questions, and provide assistance and direction to College resources that help students remain successful with their education, and promote retention.
      • Initiate and sustain effective working relationships, and up-to-date knowledge of College departments, available student services, student services initiatives, counselors, advisors, faculty, and other College endeavors to provide needed information and guidance as it relates to the success of students' overall educational success.
      • Establish and maintain accurate and timely data and notes specific to each assigned students' ability to adjust and engage to college, course of study, educational goals, enrollment, satisfaction, and other detailed information that facilitates the retention, and ultimate graduation of students.
      • Join and/or participate as requested in those College activities, and events that inspire, motivate, and assist students with successful retention, orientation, matriculation, educational progress, and graduation of students.
      • Take on leadership roles by serving on institutional committees, advising student organizations, and/or coordinating initiatives.
      • Perform all other related duties as requested or assigned by supervisor.
