Seeking a qualified professional with experience and education in Early Childhood Leadership

DCD is seeking a qualified professional who will serve as aFamily Services Coordinator for our Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership team located at our Child Development Center in Bartlesville. Responsibilities include working with families, assisting teachers with conducting developmental screenings, conducting vision and hearing screenings, working with families in developing goals, conducting home visits, scheduling and implementing monthly parent meetings, and documentation of all services into a database.

Must be a team player, knowledgeable of local service providers, proficient in computer use, able to travel with occasional overnight trips for training. Must have a minimum of a BS in Early Childhood, Social Services, Family and Consumer Sciences, or closely related field. Experience working with families of young children and knowledge of child care regulations and Head Start Standards is a plus. This is a salaried position with an excellent benefit package. Candidate must be a self-starter, able to follow direction, professional, and dependable. FCS will work closely with the Director on site. Position Summary:
The Family Services Coordinator will serve as family advocates, providing support, guidance, and referrals, as necessary, to all families enrolled in the Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership. Coordinators will work with families to develop an individual family service plan and ensure that parents/guardians are meeting their family goals, are well-informed about the EHS-CCP requirements, and are developing good relationships with their child's teachers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Enroll families in EHS-CCP

    2. Serve as the primary point of contact for all families enrolled in EHS-CCP

    3. Have primary responsibility for managing all family services and records, including conducting home visits, providing support for scheduling wellness checks and screenings, maintaining client records, and tracking attendance and appropriate follow-up

    4. Conducting home visits, maintaining client records, tracking attendance and appropriate follow-up, collaborating with colleagues and community partners, maintaining electronic records for all families

    5. Collaborate with the EHS-CCP team, especially the Family Services Manager and Coordinators, as well as community partners

    6. Work with classroom teachers on conducting development screenings

    7. Serve as the liaison between families and the health service contractors for scheduling wellness visits, immunizations, vision and hearing screenings, and mental health visits

    8. Maintain absolute confidentiality with respect to information records concerning families, children, employees, and the organization

    9. Other duties as assigned by the Family Services Manager, EHS-CCP Director, or Executive Director

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Education/Certifications-

    1. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Early Childhood Development, Social Work, Psychology, or other human service related field

    2. Knowledge of child development, family structures, and community resources

    3. Have a valid driver's license, be insurable, and be willing/able to travel

    4. Have no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions for offenses relating to children or violence

    Experience-

    1. Experience in case management and/or social work, preferred

    2. An understanding of the Early Head Start philosophy, preferred

    3. Familiarity with child development or early childhood education

    4. Experience organization, implementing, and managing multiple responsibilities under pressure

    Skills and Abilities:

    Physical Requirements:

    Able to perform the following physical requirements of position with or without reasonable accommodations: Able to walk, sit, stand, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 10 lbs., and occasionally up to 25 lbs.
