Essential Duties
- Collaborates and works with admissions counselors, supervisor, and enrollment management leadership to achieve university enrollment objectives for transfer students.
- Utilizes PeopleSoft and CRM information systems in support of new student enrollment goals for the transfer population.
- Engages, and positively impacts individuals and groups.
- Maintains student files, databases, and records in accordance with federal guidelines (FERPA); documents student interactions according to academic unit and university requirements.
- May lead and collaborate with Community College and ASU staff to implement and advance the goals of TAG’s (Transfer Admission Guarantee), GPA (Guaranteed Program Admission), and MAPP’s (Maricopa to ASU Partnership Programs) and all its components:
- Communicates and meets with students to promote a clear understanding of ASU programs, admissions standards, expectations, and resources.
- Assists in interpreting academic progress toward degree; identifies current and potential needs or problem areas (e.g. study skills, tutoring, and career services) and refers students to appropriate resources for assistance.
- Communicates and collaborates with relevant campus offices, administrators, liaisons, and faculty as needed to facilitate program success.
- Creates and maintains relationships between community colleges and ASU by offering transfer workshops, classroom presentations and various pre-enrollment services.
- Interprets and explains community college and university policies and procedures.
- Monitors the effectiveness of transfer enrollment strategies and action items. On a limited basis, also help design enrollment strategies directed towards graduate students.
- Documents students' visits and maintains appropriate online files; follows up on progress through personal contact, phone calls and correspondence.
- Provides assistance and advice regarding all prospective students to ensure seamless transition to university.
- Maintains consistent visit schedule to assigned community colleges.
- Conducts analysis of enrollment data pertaining to assigned campus sites to ensure enrollment objectives are met.
- Conducts UIS (University Information Sessions) and holds office hours to meet with prospective students.
- Work with all facets of admissions staff to ensure synergies within ASU Admission Services. This specifically includes work focused and transfer and graduate student admissions.
- Serves on various university and community college work groups and committees as needed.
- Attends and participates in meetings and training sessions designated by supervisor.
- Participates in other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Weekend and evening hours will occasionally be required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment and three years of related experience; OR, Seven years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in principles, practices and procedures pertaining to transfer, graduate and undergraduate admissions.
- Experience in organizational management and prioritizing for effective and efficient use of time and resources.
- Experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Familiarity with ASU software including PeopleSoft, CRM, dashboards.
- Experience in using organizational skills and attention to details.
- Experience in oral and written communication including presentations, public relations, and public speaking.
Working Environment
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse
- Frequently required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts
- Clearly communicate to perform essential functions
- Frequent travel, involving operation of a motor vehicle
- Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals
- This position receives regular review of objectives
- Occasional evenings and weekends are expected and required
