The Department of University Studies invites applications for two full-time, Lecturer faculty positions. Position #110320 is a one-year temporary position with possible annual renewal to up to three years total. Position #118720 is a FALL ONLY position. Both positions begin on August 1, 2019. All applicants will be considered for each position.

Successful candidates will be expected to teach a full load of reading sections per semester, provide meeting times for students, and manage grades. Candidate should also be available to teach evening classes if needed.

The successful candidate is expected to possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques for teaching.
  • Skilled in the use of computers, internet resources, and MS Office Software.
  • Ability to advise, instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate students in the field of study.
  • Ability to integrate technology into the teaching and learning process.
  • Ability to successfully interact professionally with students, other educators, educational institution representatives, and the general public.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Ability and willingness to learn all software specific to Middle Tennessee State University that is required to perform duties.
Required Education

Master’s Degree in Reading or Literacy Studies or Master’s degree in related field from an accredited college or university by appointment date.

Required Related Experience Required License/Registration/Certification Other Desirable

Applicants who possess full-time teaching experience at the secondary and post-secondary level will receive special consideration.
