The Training/Implementation Specialist, with a focus on training, is responsible for creating and implementing a variety of training programs for the institution. The types of training may be focused solely on supporting exiting campuses, expansion campuses or a combination of both. In addition, the training may be focused specifically on a particular function within the institution or apply to a broader audience as appropriate. The person assigned will draft training materials, assemble a team of people who could be used as training resources and conduct training for new users and provide on-going support to existing users. With a focus on implementation, they will work closely with project managers, functional groups, business analysts and technical staff to implement solutions in support of business goals and objectives including but not limited to campus expansion and operations training.

Responsibilities

Training
  • Coordinate, schedule and conduct business and technical training for new hires and current employees
  • Participate in train-the-trainer activities for subject matter experts who will conduct business and technical training for new hires and current employees
  • Identify and assess training needs of staff by conferring with managers and supervisors or conducting surveys
  • Manages training to support any certification and development program as applicable
  • Assists functional subject matter experts with creation of standard operating procedures and works with them to understand new and current policies, procedures and processes in order to assure a quality training curriculum that is in compliance with any and all federal and state regulations.
  • Produce training materials for in-house courses as appropriate. Amend and revise materials as necessary, in order to adapt to changes that occur
  • Facilitate the execution of training plans
  • Assist with identifying and assigning Subject Matter Experts to facilitate training
  • Periodically, evaluate training effectiveness
  • Assist with the creation of a training plan for new hires
  • Acts as a support fielding questions and issues from staff related to the business and / or system
Implementation
  • Build relationships and rapport with local functional resources that are critical to the success of the project by communicating direction, plans and tasks to appropriate stakeholders and by maintaining customer relationships at the local level.
  • Works closely with the groups involved to ensure smooth implementation of campus expansion plan.
  • Identifies and addresses obstacles to expansion plans and initiates efforts to advance the project
  • Tracks and documents completion of work plan activities by communicating project progress and issues to management, especially those that could impact project resources, scheduling, scope and delivery
  • Take a lead role facilitating change management efforts for specific projects and initiatives

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
  • At least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified above
  • Experience with creating training materials
  • Experience with delivering training and presenting to groups
  • Experience in a Student Services environment highly preferred
  • Understanding of student finance and academic processes, practicum and clinical processes, as well as Student Services operations is preferred
  • Knowledge of our current Student Services systems preferred
  • Extensive travel to our new campuses and/or short term relocation may be required
