Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital is looking for an experienced Clinical Informatics Nurse for a Full Time position.
Shift: 8:30AM EST-5:00PM EST
Position Goal: The Clinical Informatics Nurse (CIN) serves as a liaison between Information Technology (IT) and clinical end users across patient care departments while working collaboratively and directly with the vendors and technical experts. The CIN works to optimize the clinical design to meet the needs of a large group of interdisciplinary end users, including physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, ancillary, clinical and administrative staff.
Position Responsibilities;
Education: Registered nurse licensure in the State of Alabama required. BSN or ADN with a minimum of 5 years clinical experience required. BLS required.
Special Qualifications: Must have an awareness of clinical workflow, practice issues and strong focus on clinical standardization. Previous use of information systems in a healthcare setting. Knowledge of project management tools. Knowledge of information systems analysis, design, testing and implementation. Strong knowledge of HMS and T-Systems preferred

Position Responsibilities;
- Will function as the clinical expert, educator for nursing informatics systems (HMS, T-Systems, etc.)
- Assists the Clinical Informatics Manager in planning, development, implementation, maintenance, evaluation and training of HMS, T-Systems, and other EHR projects to improve the nursing process.
- Will function as an internal consultant and resource to all nursing personnel and will provide direction and education for all HMS, T-Systems, and other EHR initiatives.
- Will monitor and evaluate opportunities for technical innovations and enhancements for the Department of Nursing, ensuring that the applications and systems utilized are consistent with professional standards of best clinical nursing practice
- Analyzes current and future end user department requirements, procedures, and workflow, in order to provide application solutions that support and improve department operations.
- Demonstrates expertise in the tools utilized for data extraction by providing accurate and complete reports in a timely manner.
- Participate as necessary in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information through proper testing including disaster recovery.
- Knowledge of the basic structure of interfaces between HMS and other vendors (T-Systems, etc.) in order to ensure the proper transfer of information between health information systems.
