Visiting Instructor or Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor of History

• Hattiesburg, MississippiThe History program in the School of Humanities invites qualified applicants for a visiting full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track Visiting Instructor or Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor (depending on qualifications) in History. The full-time appointment begins Fall 2019.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Online and face-to-face course delivery and instruction
2. Prepare and submit syllabi, grades, and other required course documentation in a timely manner
3. Communicate course requirements and expectations to students
4. Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
1. Master's degree (or 18 hours of graduate course work) in History or closely-related field from an accredited university
2. Ability to teach effectively (both online and in traditional settings) at the university level
3. Background check clearance
Preferred Qualifications
1. Ph.D. in History or closely-related field
2. Experience with online course delivery and instruction
3. Experience with Canvas technology
