Chestnut Ridge Counseling Services, Inc. is hiring a full time Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Social Worker to work in our Connellsville School locations. This position is eligible for a $1,000 sign on bonus. As a School Based Therapist you will enjoy working only on days the assigned School District is in session, having holidays and summers off.

Position Description:
The School Based Therapist is a full time employee responsible for providing outpatient therapy in the school setting as a part of the therapeutic team for Chestnut Ridge Counseling Services, Inc. The School Based Therapist will provide quality services to our consumers while ensuring the maintenance of standards for compliance with regulations and licensure.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide quality School Based Services within assigned schools and districts.
  • Complete required documentation in a timely manner consistent with appropriate documentation standards.
  • Ensure that the admission and discharge processes including the referral process, authorizations for service, intakes, and other case management duties are completed in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate weekly schedule and makes arrangements based on cancellations, no shows, the client’s needs, and / or the school’s needs.
  • Provide on-going communication regarding therapeutic strategies, interventions, case needs/concerns with the school based program manager and lead school based therapist.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with assigned schools as needed to establish on-going communication.
  • Coordinate with affiliated service providers to identify community supports and promote overall continuity in care.
  • Attend mandatory monthly staff meetings and any other assigned in-services and / or training's.
  • Perform independently other duties as assigned.

  • Document services in accordance with established program processes, licensure regulatory standards, payer requirements, and best clinical practices
  • Develop comprehensive and clinically appropriate treatment plans that include observable measures.
  • Participate in agency and external meetings as assigned.
  • Complete psycho social assessments with appropriate content and refer to appropriate level of care.
  • Promote effective working relationships with internal and external customers and community partners.
  • Recommend and participate in the development of service enhancements, process enhancements, and new services.
  • Attend and actively participate in internal and external training's, supervisory sessions, and staff meetings for on-going professional, service, and program development.
  • Communicate with, coordinate with, and support team members, and direct and indirect supervisors.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Document services, contacts, and client information in accordance with CRCSI processes, licensure regulatory standards, payer requirements, and best clinical practices.
  • Effective verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Competent independent use of current EMR.
  • Extended sitting and completion of tasks using the telephone and computer.
  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, and multi-task across many assignments on a consistent basis.
  • Possess effective customer service skills.
  • Possess willingness to learn, ability to process information, and effectively adapt to change quickly.
  • Possess analytical skills to work and problem solve independently with minimal and/or no supervision.
  • Follows a development plan that provides for successful completion of continuing education requirements to maintain license.
  • Possess the ability to manage the therapy process including introducing the family to the therapy process, establishing a therapeutic framework, explaining the service, objectives, and philosophy.
  • Possess the ability to use and interpret the DSM V for assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Safely driving in a variety of weather conditions and to varying locations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Education: Master’s Degree in Mental Health Related Field
Experience: One year experience, school experience preferred.
Certification: LPC or LSW Required
Other Requirements:
FBI Clearance
PA State Criminal Clearance
Child Abuse Certification
Computer Basic Competency
