Mocs One Center is a customer service unit that provides commonly used services provided by the Bursar, Financial Aid and Scholarships, and Records. The responsibilities of the Mocs One Enrollment Counselor include:
  • Communicating student enrollment information via the telephone, emails, live chat or in person; and reviewing student’s Financial Aid, Scholarship, Records and/or Bursar account and clarifying or determining the cause of inquiry
  • Counseling students on the process of applying for financial aid and referring students or parents to financial aid specialists as needed; providing students with information about scholarships (UTC, HOPE, and other scholarship search engines); providing students with loan information and brochures (consolidation, deferment, forbearance, loan specific brochures, etc.); and communicating with counselors or directors to call students with more detailed information
  • Explaining charges or adjustments related to a complex fee structure; having a general understanding of the TouchNet login issues; assisting students making online payments for all university fees; understanding the veteran deferment processes and how it applies to the veterans; understand the online decal purchase and parking ticket payment process; understand the holds process for fees, return checks, and parking; and providing information concerning fee policies as related to deadline dates, class cancellations, confirmation of classes, payment plans and financial aid reimbursements
  • Answering questions about completion and processing of forms; policies and procedures; registrations; transcripts; petitions; degree and enrollment verifications; MyMocsDegree and directory information; processing enrollment verification and letter of good standing forms; processing registrations for audit and contract courses; confirming petitions for both undergraduate and general education; and processing and notarizing FERPA release forms
  • Providing information on how courses taken affect Financial Aid, explaining the appeal process for Admissions: Suspension/Dismissal; Records: Exception to Withdrawal Deadline; Financial Aid: Satisfactory Academic Process and Scholarships, course credit by exam, duplicate diploma requests, and requests for academic forgiveness and degree completion statements

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years professional experience in Financial Aid, Scholarships, Records, or Bursar’s Office required. Experience with Banner, MS Office, Degree Works, Campus Logic, Dynamic Forms and other computer software is highly preferred. The successful candidate must have customer service experience; excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, especially those relating to conflict resolution; a record of dependability and reliability; the ability to work well under pressure with a high degree of accuracy; ability to explain university policy and procedures to a diverse population; ability to prioritize workload; and excellent time management skills. Occasional evenings, weekends, and overnight travel are required.
