Job Summary/Basic Function:

EvCC is seeking a collaborative and visionary Director to join our dynamic team in the Center for Transformative Teaching. The Director leads the planning and implementation of effective and innovative practices related to educational technology with a specific responsibility for the Canvas learning management system and student success & retention platform (Starfish).

Live and work in a diverse community nestled between the Cascade Mountains and the Puget Sound, just 30 miles north of Seattle. Our beautiful and growing campus with state-of-the-art facilities was recently named by the Aspen Institute as one of the top 150 community colleges in the nation.

    The Director’s primary responsibilities include:
  • Design, coordination and delivery of programs that support faculty in the integration of technologies to improve student learning.
  • Strategic planning and coordination of the development and delivery of online and hybrid classes with academic departments
  • Collaboration with the Associate Dean of Teaching and Learning on faculty development initiatives
  • Supervision and evaluation of the work of the Instructional Designer, the eLearning Program Specialist, and the Student Success Technology Specialist
  • Strategic planning, budget development, marketing strategies and program assessment
  • Collaboration with Media Services, Information Technology, Institutional Research and administration on college-wide technology planning and management.
  • Represents the program on relevant college committees and the statewide eLearning Council.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in Education, Instructional – Design, or a closely related field OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Teaching, training, or instructional design experience.
  • Skill and experience in the use of instructional technologies and systems,
  • including learning management systems
  • Leadership experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Progressively responsible experience in instructional program administration
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate the work of a diversity of individuals including faculty, staff, and administrators
  • Program management and supervisory experience
  • Experience in multiple positions in program administration and strategic planning with progressive responsibilities

Work Hours:

Work hours are typically 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Hours may vary according to program demands.
