• Waterloo, IowaThis position oversees weekend activities at the Business and Community Education Center in Cedar Falls and is responsible for working with diverse groups and providing excellent customer service. Performing confidential administrative support duties which include organizational and time management skills, scheduling appointments, handling telephone and walk-in inquiries, and utilizing office technology.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Maintains effective and efficient flow of communication and information through calendars, correspondence, memos, telephone messages, and office records.
- Ensures that correct distribution and disposition is made of complaints, notices, publications, memoranda, directives, and related materials.
- Enters data into computer via use of word processing, database, spreadsheet, and various other computer applications.
- Coordinates the preparation and distribution of correspondence, proposals, and other materials related to projects.
- Maintains customer confidence and protects integrity by keeping information confidential.
- Welcomes guests and customers by greeting them in person or on the telephone and by answering or directing inquiries.
- Miscellaneous office duties including distributing mail, posting notices, proofreading, maintaining inventory, and ordering supplies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assists students with registration, cancellations, CEU certificates, and payment issues.
- Maintains State approved program student records and ensures accurate recordkeeping and retrieval.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree and two years office experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum typing speed of 40 net words per minute.
PREFERENCES:
- Ellucian or other management system experience.
EMPLOYMENT STATUS:
The position is located at the Business and Community Education Center in Cedar Falls. Anticipated weekend hours as needed between the hours of Friday 5:00 – 10:00 p.m.; Saturday 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Hourly wage will be commensurate with the applicant’s education and experience.Application Procedure
