Yoga Teacher Job Opening

Reports to: Center Director

Status: Part Time / Non-Exempt

Summary

The Yoga Teacher is responsible for helping children improve strength, flexibility, balance, and mindfulness by leading them through a class comprised of physical exercises, breathing work, and mental focus.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Center/Daily Operations:

• Teach students about the various yoga positions through a blend of language, movement, music, creative arts, and humor in a unique form of interactive play for early childhood development;
• Monitor each student to ensure that they are performing yoga poses safely and properly;
• Teaching students proper breathing techniques;
• Adhere to the rules and regulations of Little Minds Learning Center as well as State Licensing Guidelines;
• Custom design yoga classes based on needs, ages, and ability levels;
• Provides a monthly newsletter for families;
• Follow and maintain guidance at all times in accordance with Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Rule 407.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

At least 18 years of age;

Training hours in yoga specifically on techniques;

Experience working as a Yoga Instructor;

Experience working with young children;

Excellent communication skills;

Skillfully work in a self-motivated and independent way;

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to sit down on floor to play with children.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

You will be working in a busy and occasionally noisy environment. There can be a number of activities and situations happening at once, and you will have to supervise and provide a safe environment to all children at all times.

Our teachers create and structure their classroom experience and have the ability to manage their schedules with flexibility. To ensure that children receive the premier classroom experience, teachers are provided with a biweekly budget to purchase supplies.
