Instructor/Mathematics One-Year Temp Position - Fitchburg State University Job Opening

General Statement of Duties:

Full-time one-year temporary instructor position in Mathematics, at the level of Assistant Professor or Instructor. Teach undergraduate mathematics courses, participate as a professional in departmental and college-wide activities and engage in scholarly or creative pursuits. Master's degree in Mathematics required; doctorate preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach a standard work load of four courses (12 credit hours) per semester
• Prepare for the assigned classroom and/or laboratory instruction.
• Participate in curriculum review and development and student outcomes assessment.
• Attend committee meetings and university functions, including commencement and convocation.

• Master's degree in Mathematics or related field required; doctorate preferred.
• Demonstrated evidence of full teaching responsibility for at least one college level mathematics course; additional experience teaching general education and quantitative reasoning courses geared for non-majors preferred.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching.
• Ability to integrate appropriate technology and software in teaching.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body.
• Ability to perform all duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Experience serving, and/or research related to diverse, multi-cultural populations is preferred.

Full-time, 9 month Benefited Position

Salary Commensurate with Qualifications and Experience and the MSCA Bargaining Agreement
