The Commercial Sales and Product Trainer is responsible for driving, implementing and sustaining the sales training initiative from product selling to commercial insight selling through training and development. This position assesses, develops and carries out commercial insight sales learning roadmap and programs, building working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, provides development consulting related to building commercial insight sales capability across the organization and partners with sales staff to conduct training needs assessments to ensure commercial insight selling strategy and programs are designed and delivered in a relevant and timely manner.
Essential Functions
- Leads and implements the sales training initiative across applicable divisions within the organization. Sets the scope and direction of the implementation, creating short-term and long-term goals and timeframes. Ensures initiative is ongoing and sustainable.
- Designs and delivers training sessions on company products, business practices and other topics, as needed. Monitors and reports on the effectiveness of the sales training program and may conduct initial needs analysis.
- Integrates sales methodologies into the division to influence sales strategy and product development.
- Consults and collaborates with sales staff to identify learning and development needs.
- Delivers commercial insights based on research to deliver sales and assist in retention of staff throughout the division. Utilizes concepts of the sales training program to provide input on all company and supplemental product offerings and procedures.
- Coordinates internal resources with third parties and vendors for the execution and maintenance of the sales training program.
- Researches industry standards to provide commercial awareness to drive additional sales within the division.
- Integrates the sales training program into strategic business planning to support performance objectives and improve business results.
- Demonstrates knowledge of consultative selling skills and the Challenger approach to sales.

Experience Requirements
Required: Minimum of 4 Years
Preferred: Minimum of 5 Years
Experience Details: Minimum of 4 years of training in a sales environment, organizational and sales development, instructional design, online training or related experience is required.
Certification, Licensures & Registration Requirements
Title: Must have or obtain ND Insurance Producer License and receive certification through the Challenger Development Program within 3 months of hire with the expectation to maintain applicable continuing education requirements annually.
State or Agency: CEB/Gartner Sales Exchange
Equivalent combination of education, experience or training determined to be acceptable by Human Resources may be substituted, unless regulated by contract or program standards
