Produce Clerk Job Description

Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

Must be able to lift boxes of product above head to upper shelves and bend and twist as needed to place product on all shelves including lower shelves.

Must be able to unpack pallets and organize in cooler.

Operate manual or powered jack to transport and place pallets.

*Produce case must be filled and should be kept full at all times.

*All outdated or product of poor quality pulled and taken to the back room.

*Mini Bins must be filled and checked regularly to ensure freshness and quality.

*Freight is to be put away in a timely manor, with proper back room rotation, and clearly marked with a black marker with date received.

*All credit issues must be brought to the attention of the store manager as quickly as possible.

*All reworks to be completely worked, labeled, and placed in the appropriate sections in the produce case.

*Nothing should be left out on the produce table or out in the produce room when you leave.

*All merchandise that is to be discarded is to be recorded for loss, according to company and corporate standards, and discarded in the trash upon recording it for loss.

*Any merchandise that needs to be packaged, and/or wrapped is to be done on a daily basis, making sure there is ample product prepared to fill for the rest of the day and the following morning.

*All trash should be taken to the dumpster, and all cardboard to be put in the bailer before you leave for the day.

*The produce area on the sales floor and in the stock room is to be swept throughout the day, as well as when you are getting ready to leave for the day.

General Information

*Produce case must be emptied, cleaned and relined at least once a month or as needed.

*Produce area must be kept Clean, neat and organized at all times, with ample supplies and no debris left on table or on the floor.

*All signs for unpackaged products must show a country of origin label, in keeping with federal and state food regulations.

*All orders are due to store management by 12pm on the day that the order is submitted.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $12.00 to $16.00 /hour
