Director of Training & Leadership Development
FUNCTION:
This position will work collaboratively across all business units to ensure that Bealls provides a culture of learning and professional development to enable our corporate and field leaders to possess the qualities needed to be a talent focused company. In addition, this position will provide assessment tools and individualized executive coaching to elevate our internal leaders. This role is also directly responsible for the oversight and execution of our Bealls Outlet off-price training programs and will provide strategic insight into the world of off-price retail to deliver excellence in content and curriculum delivery to build a bench of future leaders within the organization.
MAJOR SCOPE OF WORK:
- Develop strategic leadership development initiatives with a focus on people development
- Responsible for the scope and the success of the Bealls Outlet off-price training programs
- Internal facilitator and executive coach for all internal leaders
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES [Essential Functions]:
- Create a comprehensive learning and development strategy, process and structure to ensure the needs of the business are met and are aligned to the overarching talent strategy. Talent strategies include but are not limited to: recruitment, interviewing, on-boarding, training, development, assessment, succession and retention.
- Drive the strategy and outcome for all leadership and high potential programs with the goal of filling the succession pipeline for future leadership roles with the talent required to continue strong growth and operational performance.
- Ensure the appropriate tools, technology and learning methods are used to implement training and creates KPI’s to measure the success of the training.
- Responsible for leading semi-annual succession strategy meetings with all Outlet Leadership groups. Develop strategies to achieve field and corporate internal promotion targets.
- Act as a creative, forward-thinking training head to lead the efforts to grow the current talent pool.
- Partner with Senior Leaders to support the Beall’s Values and company culture and embed them to critical organizational processes.
- Assist in the design, preparation and delivery of educational materials to help build a world-class Off-Price retailing team.
- Responsible for creating and managing training and development strategies to strengthen the organization's capabilities and to ensure it has the talent to meet current and future business needs.
- Create the strategic roadmap to build the bench for the VP and above roles, including emerging businesses; and work with leadership to determine the needs that are filled through succession planning versus external hiring.
- Build and develop a high-performing team that is positioned to meet the changing and dynamic nature of recruiting needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Seven or more years of talent and leadership development experience with a path of increasing responsibility.
- Demonstrated ability to articulate and implement a training and development vision, strategy and action plan/road map that produces measurable results.
- Must have exceptional leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to influence and drive results-oriented change, innovation, and customer focus while fostering positive working relationships and leading people.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, meet all deadlines and follow up on objectives. Able to set clear goals and expectations for self and hold self-accountable for achieving all objectives. An ability to quickly change priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including but not limited to: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and One Note.
