Summer Academic Instructor, Upward Bound - Fitchburg State University Job Opening

Fitchburg State University Upward Bound is seeking Instructors for a Summer Academic program. Upward Bound is a federally funded college access program for low-income/ potentially first college generation high school students. The Summer Academic Instructor will conduct classes in the specific content area of hire. The Instructor will report to the Education Coordinator.

1. Work closely with the Education Coordinator to plan, develop, and deliver curriculum in the academic area of hire

2. Design and implement educational field trips to support meaningful instruction

3. Attend all faculty meetings (weekly) and maintain records in accordance with grant requirements

4. Collaborate with program tutors to monitor student performance and provide support when needed

5. Refer students in need of academic intervention directly to Education Coordinator

The Instructor position shall require a bachelor's degree in education, or related field in the content area. Teacher certification required. Master's degree preferred.

Previous experience with underserved populations, educational opportunity programs, and/ or bilingual abilities helpful.

Shift Information: This is a temporary part time, non-benefitted position. June 26 - August 2 (Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 1:00pm) plus pre-Summer planning meetings. $25 per hour
