Job Summary:
Lead teacher; Responsible for instruction across core content areas.
Primary responsibilities:
Create positive learning environment
Provide students with developmentally appropriate, engaging learning opportunities
Provide learning experiences which meet the needs of all students
Support the social emotional development of students
Provide students with the social skills and langauge needed to navigate their world
Meet required goals for students with IEPs or 504 plans
Create projects, visuals, supports designed to enhance direct instruction
Build positive relationships with all families
Read and stay abreast of current topics in education
Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served
Develop professional relationships with colleagues
Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures
Required Qualifications:
Mass. DESE certification, PreK-2
SEI Certification
Belief in our mission and core values
Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching experience at the primary grade level
Experience/training with Responsive Classroom, Guided Reading, Writer’s Workshop, Differentiated Math/Math Workshop
Master’s Degree
