ROLE SUMMARY
The Central Service Aide will perform duties according to the shift the staff member is assigned to. The core responsibilities below are the various expectations for each shift.
CORERESPONSIBILITIES
1. Collect dirty instruments, trays, basins, etc. from the nursing units. Decontaminate all soiled equipment and return to storage room for future use. Deliver processed sterile instruments and trays to the nursing units. Ensure that all supply carts are kept clean, neat and in order at all times
2. Perform bed checks and wound VAC checks
3. Issue and deliver supplies and equipment as orders come in
4. Pull Pyxis refill report and restock Pyxis supply stations
5. Restock as stock outs occur. Verify items placed in each station to ensure correct item is in correct bin. Check for expiration dates. Verify with Inventory Coordinator accuracy of replenishment from Stores, unload cart and place supplies on CS shelves, and excess supplies placed neatly in back hall. Check IV solutions, IV tubing, syringes and restock. Make Heart Admit Kits; check Dressing Trays and Open Heart Dressing Kits
6. Order lab supplies as needed
7. Scan supply shelves according to established schedule
8. Fill replenishment lists created in MS4. Confirm replenishment lists in MS4
