Assistant/Associate Professor for Counseling - Alabama A&M University Job Opening

Summary:

This is a full-time, 9-month faculty position. This position is expected to deliver courses in face-to-face format and other integrates technology method. There may be additional opportunities to teach summer courses. The rank and tenure-status of position is negotiable based on qualifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Teach core counseling courses (both didactic and clinical, including supervision of practicum/internship).
• Maintain active membership and involvement with an appropriate counseling professional organization (i.e. ACA, ALCA, etc.).
• Advise students.
• Participate in university service and professional/scholarly contributions.
• Pursue professional development opportunities.
• Partake in scholarly activities while meeting the needs of a diverse student body.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Requirements (including years of experience, certifications, licenses, etc.):

• Earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology (depending on specified category noted above) from an accredited institution and preferably from a CACREP or CORE accredited doctoral program
• ABD will also be considered, only if all degree requirements will be completed by July 31, 2019.
• The ability to teach in blended, hybrid and online formats
• Experience in the field of counseling and be licensed (or license eligible) as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
• Teaching experience in the field of counseling is preferred
• Evidence experience in CACREP accreditation are particularly desired
• Must have the ability to contribute to and collaboratively work alongside a diverse departmental faculty
