• Gillette, WyomingThe Secondary Education Program Coordinator is responsible for design and development of a coordinated program of activities for secondary education students. The coordinator will teach dual enrollment classes for Campbell County School District students as a primary function. This position is responsible for developing courses that align with CTE programs at Gillette College and are coordinated with classes from the CCSD course catalog.
Additionally, this position will have responsibilities for the functioning of AREA 59 (Gillette College Center for Innovation and Fabrication) in assisting the director and manager of AREA 59 in the coordination and implementation of programming within the center. Oversight and teaching responsibilities of summer camps will be included. Supervise teachers of maker classes, part-time summer workers and volunteers. This position works over a ten-month period.
Bachelor’s degree in Technology Education
Ability to work with school and college district employees to create and update courses at each location and provide coordination between the two
Ability to relate well with students of high school age
Ability to work unsupervised in a technical environment
Self starter, able to find and complete tasks with little supervision
Must be able to use and maintain Area 59 equipment such as woodworking tools, machining tools, metalworking tools, and digital equipment
Ability to quickly learn new and emerging and associated hardware such as 3D printers, 3D scanner, laser cutters, CNC desktop mills, CNC plasma cutter, CNC router, Fanuc robotic arms and automation
Office hours – some evenings and Saturdays will be required
Able to lift 50 pounds

Gillette College is located in Gillette, WY, the county seat of Campbell County. Located midway between the Big Horn Mountains to the West and the Black Hills of South Dakota to the east. Program development experience for technical training
Teaching experience in high school or college environment preferred
Management experience preferred

Plan, coordinate, and teach classes for high school students at AREA 59. These will be hands-on, project based classes and will be taught as dual enrollment classes to registered high school students. The coordinator will be responsible for assisting the students with the design and implementation of projects related to STEM activities. The coordinator will work with students to bring a project from conception to fruition. The coordinator will be responsible for updating the class descriptions and syllabi in both the college systems and the high school systems.

Assist in the planning and implementation of programming at AREA 59, including summer camps and classes taught each month. The coordinator will assist the director with the creation and staffing of programming at the center for the benefit of K12 students and other members of AREA 59.

This position will have responsibility for promoting usage of AREA 59 within the community and will be a direct liaison to the school district. These responsibilities will involve working to keep district employees and students aware of AREA 59 activities and potential. This person will work with district employees who would like to hold after school activities at the center.
