Job Description:

Applications are invited for the position of Head Coach of Men's Basketball at Saint Michael's College, a NCAA Division II institution and member of the Northeast-10 Conference, located in greater Burlington, Vermont.

Administrative duties include some event management in the fall and/or spring seasons.

Coaching responsibilities include:

  • Directing all aspects of the coaching and management of the men's basketball program
  • Recruiting and scouting
  • Coaching in games and practices
  • Manage the team strength and conditioning program.
  • Budget management, fundraising, and alumni development.
  • Supporting the academic and personal development of all athletes.
  • Supervising a full-time assistant coach.
  • Visible, meaningfully engaged member of the College community.
  • Visible representative for the College and Purple Knights basketball in the greater Burlington community.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of successful coaching experience at the collegiate (or higher) level.
  • Strong preference for NCAA collegiate basketball coaching experience, particularly as a head coach.
  • Proven commitment to the holistic development of the student-athlete and the mission of the College.
  • High level of personal integrity.
  • Outstanding work ethic.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to adhering to NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrated success in recruitment; recruiting scholarship student-athletes highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire student-athletes to develop to their fullest potential.
  • Outstanding skills in oral and written communication,
  • Strong organizational ability and computer competency.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, and sustain certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Must legally be able to work in the United States.
