Promote, protect and improve the lifelong health of individuals and communities in Adams, Arapahoe and Douglas Counties through the effective use of data, evidence-based prevention strategies, leadership, advocacy, partnerships and the pursuit of health equity. In short we strive to provide optimal health across the lifespan for the populations we serve.
What You’ll Do:
As a member of the Diabetes Education Program team, your primary responsibility will be facilitating the National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP) classes in Spanish at community locations. Other responsibilities include screening and addressing socioeconomic barriers for behavior changes, client resource referrals, maintaining client records and program data, working with community agencies, assisting with preparation of educational materials, and providing outreach activities in the community to recruit program participants.
Requirements You’ll Need:
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent to the completion of the 12th grade
  • Minimum of 1 year of work or volunteer experience in healthcare, public health, or providing community education
  • English/Spanish bilingual – speaking, reading, writing
  • Valid driver’s license with access to dependable transportation readily available for business use
    This is an hourly position without benefits. Hours will vary; approximately 4-12 hours per week. Hourly wage: $18.98 - $20.88 depending on qualifications. Location: Aurora, North Broadway, or Englewood office.
