More about the position:
This is a full time certificated position, serving at Elementary Schools in the Renton Innovation Zone (RIZ) (Campbell Hill, Lakeridge, Highlands, Bryn Mawr). Qualified applicants will either be recent teaching program graduates or enrolled in a teacher certification program. If not already credentialed, applicants must qualify for conditional teacher certification.
The Renton Innovation Zone (RIZ) improvement model is built on effective professional development for teachers. Several times each year grade-level teaching teams participate in Math and Literacy Lab Days in which they learn together. To ensure that students continue to experience effective instructions while their teachers are in Labs, we are seeking a small cadre of beginning teachers to serve as Residents. Resident Teachers will receive the RIZ instructional model training and serve as guest teachers only in the RIZ schools. This is a one-year residency.
