• Saint George, UtahThe University of Utah Physician Assistant Program at the University of Utah is seeking applicants for a full-time, 12 month, faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in the Division of Physician Assistant Studies.
The program’s close affiliation with the University of Utah Health Sciences Center provides faculty an opportunity to become involved in research and development as well as being an environment conducive to educational and technological advancements.
Job Responsibilities:
We seek an experienced physician assistant educator to join our faculty team. The successful applicant will serve as a general faculty member at the expanded campus in St. George, Utah with primary responsibilities within the clinical year. This is a newly created full-time, 12-month faculty position.
The responsibilities of this position will primarily be clinical site development and maintenance in the southern Utah area, preceptor scheduling, affiliation agreements, assessment, and administration of the clinical year curriculum. Additionally, this position has responsibility for orientation visits, clinical site visits for students, and student return visits during the clinical year.
Additionally, the faculty member will participate in student admissions, advising of a small group of students, program evaluation and planning. The candidate will also participate in didactic teaching and assessment of students.
St. George is located in the southwest region of Utah. It is located near beautiful canyons (Zions and Bryce) with many outdoor activities year-round that include hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking and other sports.
Applicant must have a master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited academic institution. The following are also requirements:
- A current NCCPA certification
- Hold or be eligible for unrestricted Utah State PA licensure
- A minimum of three years’ clinical experience
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Interest in areas that align with our program mission is strongly preferred
- An interest in scholarship and professional development
- Teaching and clinical precepting experience.
- Knowledge of St. George and surrounding area clinical training and practice environment.
